Tirupati Brahmotsavam: Devotees donate Rs 26 crores: The 9-day annual Brahmotsava festival at Tirumala, Tirupati Balaji Temple concluded yesterday with the Chakrathalwar Theerthawari known as ‘Chakra Snanam’.

The Vedic Pandits performed Tirumanjanam to Chakrathalwar according to Shastra. Then they took holy bath in Pushkarani. During the nine days, the great hero Sri Venkatamudayan appeared to the devotees in various vehicles. The Brahmotsava flag was also lowered after the Theerthavari.lord

In this situation, “30 lakh laddus have been sold in the first 8 days of the Brahmotsava festival. Also, Rs. 26 crores have come as money donations from devotees,” said the Devasthanam.

15 lakh devotees had darshan of Swami in the ‘Vahana Seva’ held from the 4th to the 12th October, when the Brahmotsavam started. Especially, 3.5 lakh devotees thronged Tirumala to have darshan of Sri Maha Vishnu, who appeared on the Garuda Vahanam on the last night of the 8th October. It is also reported that 2,800 Andhra government buses have been run for them.
