Her mother, Lissy (also known as Lakshmi), is a former Malayalam film actress. Kalyani is the elder child in the family and has a younger brother named Siddharth Priyadarshan.

Later, she moved to the United States to pursue higher education at the Parsons School of Design in New York, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Design.
