Hum Honge Kaamyaab Ek Din Lyrics: Hum Honge Kaamyaab Ek Din is popular Hindi song translated from the original english song ‘We Shall Overcome’.

‘We Shall Overcome’ is a gospel song which became a protest song and a key anthem of the Civil Rights Movement. The song is most commonly attributed as being lyrically descended from “I’ll Overcome Some Day”, a hymn by Charles Albert Tindley that was first published in 1900.

In India, the renowned poet Girija Kumar Mathur composed its literal translation in Hindi ‘Hum Honge Kaamyab’ which became a popular patriotic/spiritual song during the 1970s and 80s, particularly in schools.

This song also came to be used by the Blue Pilgrims for motivating the Indian national football team during international matches.

In Bengali-speaking India and Bangladesh, there are two versions, both of which are popular among school-children and political activists. ‘Amra Korbo Joy’ was translated by the Bengali folk singer Hemanga Biswas and re-recorded by Bhupen Hazarika.

Another version, translated by Shibdas Bandyopadhyay, ‘Ek Din Shurjer Bhor’ was recorded by the Calcutta Youth Choir and arranged by Ruma Guha Thakurta during the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence and it became one of the largest selling Bengali records.
