Mimi Official Trailer Released | Kriti Sanon | Pankaj Tripathi: The official trailer of upcoming Hindi film ‘Mimi’ was released today. Mimi was directed by Laxman Utekar and written by Rohan Shankar, Samruddhi Porey. The film was produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner Maddock Films and Jio Studios.

Mimi was loosely based on the 2011 Marathi film ‘Mala Aai Vhhaychy’ directed by Samruoddhi Porey featuring Urmila Kanetkar, Stacy Bee, Samruoddhi Porey, and others. The film won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2011. It was remade Telugu as Welcome Obama [2013].

The film’s story is about a small town dancer from Rajasthan becomes a surrogate mother in order to fulfill her big dreams. The circumstances that follow in the next 9 months not only change her life, but also her as a person.

Mimi Hindi film features Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak, Evelyn Edwards, Aidan Whytock, Smita Jaykar, Amardeep Jha, and others. This films original songs and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman.

Director Laxman Utekar, who stared his career as a Cinematographer made his directorial debut in 2013 through a Marathi film named Tapaal. His debut hindi film was Luka Chuppi [2019]. Now is working on Luka Chuppi 2.

Mimi was supposed to release theatrically in mid 2020. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic the release was postponed. The movie will now premiere on 30 July 2021 on Netflix and JioCinema.
