Kathanayakudu features ensamble cast of Nandamuri Balakrishna as N.T.Rama Rao, Vidya Balan is making her Telugu debut in through this film in the role of Basavatarakam [N.T.R’s first wife], Rana Daggubati, Aamani as Lakshmi Parvathi [N.T.R’s second wife], Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Nandamuri Mokshagna Teja, Poonam Bajwa, Manjima Mohan, Bharath Reddy, Garapati Srinivas, Sachin Khedekar, Himanshi Choudary and others.
