Chaitra Rai was born on 29 March 1990 in Coorg, Karnataka, India, she was raised in a supportive family by her father B.D. Vasu Rai and mother Gulabi Rai. She belongs to a Hindu family and holds Indian nationality. Chaitra shares a close bond with her one brother and continues to maintain strong ties with her hometown roots. Chaitra completed her higher education with a ‘Bachelor of Hotel Management’ degree.

Chaitra Rai began her acting journey in 2009 with the Kannada television serial ‘Kusumanjali’, which marked her debut in the industry. She soon gained recognition for her expressive performances and went on to act in several successful Kannada serials including Bombeyatavayya (2010–11), Radha Kalyana (2011–15), Gejje Pooje (2011–12), Bannada Buguri (2012–13), Pournami (2012–13), and Nagamani (2013).
Chaitra Rai Telugu Serials
Her breakthrough in Telugu television came with the serial ‘Ashta Chamma’, which significantly expanded her fan base. She further impressed audiences with her performances in Telugu serials such as Ala Modalaindi (2014–15), Atto Attamma Kuthuro (2015–16), That is Mahalakshmi (2017–18), Okariki Okaru (2017–18), Manasuna Manasai (2018–19), and Attarintlo Akka Chellelu.
She later appeared in the Telugu serial Radhaku Neevera Pranam alongside Nirupam Paritala and Gomathi Priya, further strengthening her position in the Telugu television industry.

Chaitra made her Kannada film debut with the movie Jamboo Savari in 2014. She is also set to make her debut in the Telugu film industry with NTR 30, starring Jr NTR, which has generated excitement among her fans.
